The apartment building at Finiera iela 15, Riga (previously – Platā iela 28 k-2), is a five-floor building with two stairways, and 28 residential properties. The building was put into operation in 1985 and it has not undergone major renovations since.
The aim of the project is to significantly improve the thermal insulation of the building and to increase the comfort level of its occupants. The project is necessary given that the thermal insulation of the building structures does not meet the modern energy efficiency requirements, incl. LBN 002-01, thus resulting in high heat energy consumption during the heating season, which is costly for the occupants, as well as produces excessive emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
It is planned to insulate the buildings enclosing structures (attic slab, enclosing walls, base, basement slab, roofs) to meet the requirements of the Building Regulation LBN 002-01. The project also includes the replacement of windows, doors, and hatches in common areas, as well as the windows in apartments. It is also planned to renovate the heating system by replacing the thermal insulation of the heating and hot water pipes.
The implementation of the above-mentioned measures according to the energy audit report can result in heat energy savings of about 43%.
