From November 6th to 10th this year, SIA “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks” (RNP) hosted the first in-person meeting of project partners in Latvia within the framework of the Nordplus Adult sub-program project “Train the Trainer: Developing the Skills of Adult Educators.”
The aim of the project is to share experiences, learn from each other’s best practices, and organize practical training in the field of adult education to improve the quality and effectiveness of free education provided by both partner organizations in Estonia and Latvia.
During the first meeting in Latvia, project participants were introduced to the specifics of adult education, Latvia’s adult education system in the field of property management, and the experience of building management and renovation. The visit included both theoretical and practical training, discussions on adopting best practices, and visits to renovated buildings, allowing participants to evaluate the importance of understanding and education and gain practical insight into building management and renovation processes.
Theoretical and practical training on the specifics of adult education were organized in collaboration with RNP specialists, Riga Technical University, and the Law College.
Knowledge and experience about the possibilities and methods of adult education, focusing on the professions of “Building Manager” and “Property Manager,” were shared by Iveta Amoliņa, Ph.D., the director of the study program “Real Estate Management and Administration” at the Law College.
Practical and theoretical sessions on aspects of adult learning, communication, and building positive interactions with different personalities were conducted by Anete Hofmane, Mg.psych., Mg.sc.administr., a lecturer at Riga Technical University, researcher, and certified supervisor.
Project participants included 15 employees from SIA “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks” and 15 representatives from the Estonian Union of Cooperative Housing Associations (EKYL).
